Every year, a day before Makar Sankranti i.e. on January 13, the festival of Lohri is celebrated with great pomp across the country. Although Lohri is celebrated all over North India, but this festival is most celebrated in Punjab and Haryana, because it is a special festival of Punjabis.

हर साल पूरे देश में मकर संक्रांति के एक दिन पहले यानी 13 जनवरी को लोहड़ी का त्योहार धूमधाम से मनाया जाता है। वैसे तो लोहड़ी को संपूर्ण उत्तर भारत में मनाया जाता है, लेकिन इस त्योहार की धूम सबसे ज़्यादा पंजाब और हरियाणा में देखने को मिलती है, क्योंकि ये पंजाबियों का ख़ास त्योहार है।
